Ronald Bowers - cfi, CFII

Ron grew up in Summerville, SC, just outside of Charleston, and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2014. He always had an underlying interest in aviation but the intrigue really took off when he found a flight simulator app called Infinite Flight while he was in college. While many people close to him light heartedly pressured his pursuit of aviation beyond the iPad, he didn’t know where to begin so he moved to Charleston where he sold real estate with his family for seven years.

The year 2020 will live in infamy for all of us. For Ron, though, it was a time that brought change and dedication to finally start pursuing a career of passion. Being the first pilot in his family, and with this endeavor seeming a daunting task, he got to work on a plan. In May of 2021, he began flight school with CRAFT Flight Training in Summerville where he completed his Private Pilot and Instrument rating. In May of 2022, Ron moved to Greenville where he finished his Commercial License and CFI with Greenville Aviation. 

Shortly after coming to Greenville, Ron realized that Greenville Aviation would be an outstanding place to begin his career as a CFI. Knowing the difficulty of creating and navigating a plan for flight school with much support but little guidance, he knew that Greenville Aviation has all the resources anyone could need, not only to learn but, to also instruct effectively. 

When he is not flying, Ron loves to do anything in the outdoors. One of his greatest passions is high altitude mountaineering with his brother, including two summits of Mt Rainier in Washington. He also likes to play and watch all kinds of sports, especially his beloved Gamecocks. 

He looks forward to helping students achieve their wings at Greenville Aviation!
