Sam White

Sam White - CFI, CFI-I

Sam White is no stranger to aviation, having taken her first flight before her first steps.  As a child, she loved the window seat so she could gaze out the window while cruising high above the clouds. Growing up, she found she had a love for running and language. She was part of her high school’s cross country and track teams, and she earned spots in each of the school’s three foreign language honor societies.

Sam worked in international customer service for a mining company for a few years before returning to school to earn her Master of Arts in Spanish, which she put to use teaching Spanish at the high school and collegiate levels.

Sam’s first experience in small, general aviation aircraft was a few days after a friend had earned his Private Pilot License. They just practiced takeoffs and landings, and Sam was enthralled. Sam’s friend encouraged her to pursue flight lessons of her own since she enjoyed such a basic flight so much. But, wrapped up in complexities of life, Sam pushed it to the backburner.

Finally the opportunity arose for Sam to go out on her first official flight lesson. After nearly a decade of working in education and several months agonizing over such a big decision, Sam made the jump to pursue aviation. While working a full-time job, Sam earned all of her certificates and ratings in under two years.

Outside of flying, Sam loves teaching and seeing students’ reactions when things finally click. She truly loves supporting others in reaching their own goals. Sam is patient, determined, and wants to help others become the best version of themselves.
When she’s not flying, you can find Sam enjoying water sports, playing videogames, or spending time outside.
