Sara Benson - Cfi, CFII, MEI

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the aviation community. Both of my parents are career A&P mechanics so I started working in aircraft maintenance shops (and on anything else with a motor) as soon as I could turn a wrench. My passion for aviation began in aircraft maintenance. In high school I got a job at my local airport working as a line service technician and was offered a free flight by a pilot friend. I had not considered flying as a career and was in the process of applying to aerospace engineering programs, but I was hooked! After that flight I earned my Private Pilot certificate at the local flight school and finished my ratings through MEI at ATP in Greenville, February 2023. 

The basis of my instructional style is Aeronautical Decision Making and Risk Management. I put a strong emphasis on understanding why we follow the regulations, guidelines, and best practices set out by the FAA in conjunction with our judgement as pilots according to our level of experience. I want you to get your certificate and feel confident in your ability to make safe, effective decisions when flying with your friends and family. 

Flying is a ton of fun! I never get tired of the views and experiences I get to have as a pilot. I have met some super cool people and made some lifelong friendships as a CFI. It is a privilege to fly and I am excited to share the sky with you!
